齊藤 彩 1995年生於東京，2018年3月畢業於北海道大學理學部地球科學系。畢業後加入共同通信社，先後任職於新瀉分局、大阪分局社會部，擔任司法記者。2021年離職，本書為處女作。 作者透過數次探望、採訪，並藉由書信交流與母女間的通訊紀錄，完整還原母女生活的整個過程，真實呈現女兒所承受的苦與樂、悲傷與疼痛，以及最後因為審判長的理解與父親的陪伴，而終於坦然面對自我的一切。
